Aeroseal Duct Sealing Services in Lake City & Gainesville, FL

Aeroseal Duct Sealing Services in Lake City & Gainesville, FL

Tiny leaks in your air ducts can lead to big problems in your home if they are not addressed properly. Not only does pure, conditioned air escape through pinhole openings that develop in your ducts, but those tiny cracks are letting in contaminated outside air. Until corrected, those issues will raise your utility bills and threaten the health of your family members.

Such issues are common when a building settles after construction. Industry experts estimate that more than 90% of existing buildings in North America have small holes and cracks in their duct systems.

At  Glenn I. Jones Home Services, our certified technicians know how to stop those problems quickly, emphatically and cost-effectively. They use Aeroseal, a fast-acting and long-lasting sealant that will plug the leaks in your air ducts from the inside out. Aeroseal is a polyurethane spray foam that is completely safe, can be applied quickly and will reduce airborne irritants in your home.

Studies have shown that this type of sealant lasts more than 40 years in the average home. When applied, it is estimated that Aeroseal will save a typical homeowner between 30-40 % on utility bills. That represents a win-win option for homeowners in Lake City and Gainesville, Florida: fresh, clean air that improves your indoor air quality, combined with lower utility bills because of a more energy-efficient cooling system.

Our Aeroseal services come with a 100 % satisfaction guarantee for our customers.

How Aeroseal Air Duct Sealing Works

Aeroseal air duct sealing is a simple, straightforward process that involves no tearing at walls to get to the ductwork. Instead, Aeroseal uses physics to non-intrusively plug pinholes and fractures in ductwork with a polyurethane spray foam. The foam seals holes in your ductwork from the inside out. Here's how:

Preparation of the Air Duct

Our team starts by closing and blocking all vents in your home. Then, we seal off the air conditioner and furnace and establish a baseline for how much air is leaking out of your ducts before treatment. At that point, the Aeroseal dispenser is attached, via a hose, to one of the vents.

Sealing of the Air Duct

Once everything has been prepared, the sealing process begins. The technology behind Aeroseal involves sending sealant particles through the vents as a spray foam that will “attach” to the leak. Each particle is attracted to the others. In only a few minutes, the leak is covered in bonded sealant. With the air flow to the outside cut off, the sealant would start attaching to the next point of leaking air until the entire duct is completely sealed. Typically, only 1-2 ounces of sealant is used in the Aeroseal process. Studies have shown the sealant can last up to 40 years.

Review and Clean Up

After the sealing process is complete, our Glenn I. Jones technician will re-test the ducts to make sure that no air is leaking from them. If no leaks are found, our representative will re-open all the vents in your home and remove the protective coverings for the air conditioner and furnace. The sealant is permanent and there is no mess to clean after it has been applied.
